Darlene  Brown is the CEO & Founder of Divine Empowerment. She is a certified Life Skills Coach, Motivational Speaker, Training Facilitator and published poet with over 20 years of professional business experiences.

In 2002 she opened her first company, “BrownIzes Productions”, with the primary purpose of promoting herself as an inspirational poet known as ‘BrownIzes’, (pronounced Brown Eyes) and to produce live poetry, entertainment events, and television shows.

Gifted with excellent oratory skills, Ms. Brown is an active member of Toastmasters, and began facilitating motivational workshops to youth and adults in 2003. Several of her articles on love and relationships, life skills and entrepeneurship have been published in Todays Black Woman Magazine.

In 2003, her debut poetry CD, “Lovesick Lessons” was released featuring her inspirational poems on love and the lessons learned throughout the journey of life over a smooth blend of jazz and R&B music produced by International Solo Jazz Pianist, Bob Baldwin. 

Ms. Brown has appeared on “The Poets Drum” and “The Poets Joint” TV shows and she was a featured guest on WPGC Radio 95.5 FM with Justine Love - “Love Talk & Slow Jams”; XM Radio with Michelle Leslie – “Can U Relate”; Alvin Jones – “TMI- Too Much Information”; and with Cola and SunChild – “The New Soul Lounge”; WHUR Radio 96.3 FM with Al Gore. WKYS Radio 95.9 Kiss FM in Baltimore with Lolo – “The Quiet Fire” and on WKYS Radio 98.7 KISS FM with Lenny Green – “Kissing after Dark.” 

Ms. Brown has been the host of Mad Flavor TV show, which aired in Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, New York, Los Angeles and Chicago; People N’ Places TV show, which aired in Washington, DC; and The Next Level TV show, which aired in New York to a viewing audience of 2 million. Her on camera roster of artist interviews include Carl Thomas, Queen Latifah, Jaheim, Percy Miller, Lil John, Bob Baldwin, Deborah Cox, Eryka Badu, Common, Tank, Marcus Johnson and many others. 

Ms. Brown was the keynote speaker at the Baltimore Ravens Stadium for the First Annual Maryland National Heritage Award Ceremony honoring Kevin Clash – also known as “Elmo” on Sesame Street and the keynote speaker for the Annual Designer Awards Ceremony for “Today’s Black Woman Magazine" at the Marriott Hotel in NJ and “Today’s Man Magazine" at the Wyndham Hotel in NJ.

Ms. Brown has facilitated training workshops at the Patriots Technology Training Center, the College of New Rochelle, Milford Mills Academy, Chrisfield High School in Somerset County Maryland for the "Dare to Be Queen Conference". Ms. Brown has provided employee training for The Endodontics Group, LLC in New York; and was the keynote speaker at New David Baptist Church in Baltimore, Maryland; at the Youth Entrepreneur Forum speaking on the topic of “The Power of Positive Thinking" and at Prince Georges Community College. 

As an entrepreneur, her business accomplishments include the successful play , “The Kings & Queens of Poetry” at the University of the District of Columbia in May of 2003; "What’s The Word” a weekly open-mic poetry show at the Sugar Shack Café in Harlem, New York, from 2003 - 2006; “Mic Check Artist Showcase” at the Cherry Lounge in Harlem, New York, which featured John Legend in a live solo performance and numerous speaking engagements that include public shcools and churchs throughout the United States.

Ms. Brown walks in her divine purpose every day and humbly accepts that her life's calling is to provide inspiration to others utilizing her God given gifts.She empowers and teaches others to become the best person that they can be and utlimately fulfill their divine destiny utilizing the principles taught in her workshops. 

Her motto: "To remain humble, always praying and having a plan of action to achieve your goals. Being assertive, disciplined, dedicated and determined to pursue your passionate purpose; always placing God first.” These are the principles that she teaches and testifys will bring anyone the positive desired results for their life.
